Where the blog at?
Well, my posts used to get echoed here, but I don't remember how I set everything up and why it's not happening anymore. Maybe someday I'll get that going again, but for now, you can just go to http://argotnaut.tumblr.com/.

Shaving: It's not just for breakfast anymore
When I saw the handle of the Gillette Venus razor, it occurred to me that it was ... ummm ... designed for some purpose other than getting a grip during shaving.
Now that they've introduced a vibrating model, I'm convinced that it wasn't just my filthy mind. "For more radiant skin" ... yeah, sure, I getcha.
No matter ... I've abandoned my Gillette for some hippie recycled brand that doesn't test their products by poking out bunny eyes. I'm funny that way.

A place ... where nobody dared to go ...
One of my friends invited me to Gay Skate Night, a monthly event at Oaks Park that benefits the Just Out Scholarship Fund and Esther's Pantry.
When I was a teenager growing up in Morris, Illinois, the skating rink was THE place to be. Or at least THE place to have your parents drop you off before you went somewhere else to do your smoking and drinking and whatnot.
I admit involvement in some whatnot, but I did actually enjoy the skating itself. But since then, I've only been skating once in the past twenty years (ack!) and that time was ten years ago.
I felt pretty wobbly when I first put the skates on tonight; in fact, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to manage it. But by the end of the night, I was thinking, "Hey! I'm feeling pretty confident! Almost as good as twenty...WHOA-OA-OA-OA!"
No, really. I didn't fall down, felt fairly up-to-speed by the end of the night, and they played Xanadu. Great fun, and great exercise (although I'm sure I'll be achy tomorrow). What more could I possibly want?
Well, for one thing, I wish it were closer to home! I would definitely go and skate every week if it weren't so dag-blasted hard to get to via public trans. And maybe even get my very own skates ... [sigh].

The OFFICIAL clean bill of health!
Had my follow-up with Dr. Lim today. The official diagnosis: "Fibrocystic changes, primarily adenoma." The doctor explained that fluids within the ductwork are normally flushed out, but sometimes accumulate and form a kind of cyst. The only information on adenomas that I could find didn't say anything about fluid accumulation, but ... either way, it's benign. [shrug]
I was also glad to hear that he checked BOTH of the places where they had thought the anomolous tissue might be, so I have no lingering doubt that they might have taken out the wrong thing. This is why the incision was a bit longer than I was expecting.
He also explained that the area that feels like someone stuck a rock in there and sewed it up is normal -- that rocky feeling should disappear within about three months. The stitches are dissolving, so I'm free to go about my business until next year's follow-up mammogram!
